PARKING near the venue (SF County Fair Building)
No real new solutions for most people per se - but good for everyone to be aware of the options and a few updates.
Obviously for those that can take public transit, a bike, Uber or a taxi - that is the best option.
But if you need to / want to drive your own car - besides parking in the paid lots at the museums across the street or feeding the meters for spots on the street in the Inner Sunset neighborhood - here is some more information -
For volunteers/attendees who have a blue placard can park in the area behind the bandshell on the Music Concourse since Japanese Tea Garden Bus Parking Lot recently lost their lease there - so it is now an ADA parking lot.
As in the past for vendors and volunteers we have some designated barricaded area on one side of MLK Drive (that's all the parking we can get and pay for from the city) - this across from the front entrance inside the park - you need to get a parking pass from Credentials to put on your dashboard or print the one attached to this email - we have one side of the MLK Dr. area between 7th and 9th Ave set aside for us Fri-Sat from 8am to 10pm (no overnight parking) - but there is not enough room for everyone to park there all day - so it is on a first come basis.
A good free place to park relatively close to the venue all day is up on Stow Lake Dr. - the entrance is off of MLK Dr and circles around the lake - best to park on the lower third of the drive before exiting back on MLK Dr - and there is an upper "hidden" footpath / stairway that comes down behind the Japanese Tea Garden - just a few blocks away from the venue - see maps and more info below:
