Several years ago, Sharon visited a coworker’s home in Los Angeles and was captivated by the serene beauty of a space filled with Phalaenopsis orchids. Inspired by that peaceful oasis, she vowed to one day create something similar. In 2020, after a car crashed into her residence, she began collecting Phalaenopsis orchids as a way to build her own sanctuary of calm and beauty.
A neighbor introduced her to Orchids in the Park, which led her to the San Francisco Orchid Society—where her collection expanded and her passion deepened. Today, her collection includes peloric Phalaenopsis, Paphiopedilum, Masdevallia, Dracula, and Tolumnia, with a recent foray into the world of miniature orchids.
In addition to her orchids, Sharon also has an extensive Aroid collection, including Monstera, Philodendron, and an ever-expanding assortment of Anthuriums.
Outside of the plant world, Sharon works in the tech sector and enjoys a diverse array of interests, including synchronized swimming, trampoline, hand-balancing, event management and catering, and animal rescue and fostering.
