Welcome to the Official San Francisco Orchid Society Web Site. It is our pleasure to share with you the joys and challenges of growing orchids in one of the most orchid-friendly regions of the country. We hope that our experience, enthusiasm and knowledge encourage in you the cultivation, conservation and appreciation of these intriguing plants. Enjoy this site, check out our meetings and events, and add some orchids to your life!

The San Francisco Orchid Society meets on the first Tuesday of every month. The meeting is held in the Auditorium of the San Francisco County Fair Building, adjacent to the San Francisco Botanic Gardens (at Ninth Avenue and Lincoln Way, San Francisco).

Plants submitted for American Orchid Society Judging must be entered between 6:30 p.m. & 7 p.m. The meeting will start at 7:30 p.m.

2012 Pacific Orchid Exposition

The San Francisco Orchid Society invites you to celebrate the magic and enchantment of thousands of orchids at its largest annual fundraiser, the Pacific Orchid Exposition. The Pacific Orchid Exposition is the largest orchid show in the United States and is aptly named for the extraordinary, lush displays of organic beauty that are showcased every year. The event boasts more than 150,000 orchid flowers from all over the world and offers educational exhibits from local, national and international orchid growers. Each day, attendees can take part in docent tours and learn cultivation tips as they wander through this amazing orchid wonderland.

The Gala Benefit Preview will feature live music, delicious hors d'oeuvres, fabulous raffle prizes, a silent auction, and wine tasting from some of northern California's premier wineries, including winners from the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, the largest competition of American wines in the world.
