“Orchids… And All that Jazz” is Proud to Support The Conservatory of Flowers and the UC Botanical Garden
The 62nd annual Pacific Orchid Exposition Gala Benefit Preview on Thursday, February 20th at Fort Mason Center’s Festival Pavilion in San Francisco will benefit two of the Bay Area's most well known horticultural institutions, the Conservatory of Flowers and the U.C Botanical Garden at Berkeley.
For the first time, $10 from each Gala ticket will be evenly divided and donated to these horticultural landmarks. The San Francisco Orchid Society (SFOS) has always had a strong belief in local philanthropic efforts and is proud to support these institutions' important work with environmental conservation and research.
Through this gift, the SFOS will help fulfill the Conservatory of Flowers mission “to connect people and plants in a place of exceptional beauty”. This unique living museum allows visitors from all over the world to enjoy rare, exotic, and beautiful horticulture in the oldest wood and glass conservatory in North America.
The Gala Benefit ticket donation will also help the U.C. Botanical Garden in Berkeley, which contains more than 10,000 species of plants and flowers. The garden features plants from nearly every continent but has a particular focus on native California flora.
The Gala Benefit gives attendees the first chance to browse and purchase the most beautiful orchids before the show opens to the general public. In addition, delicious hors d’oeuvres will be served as well as wine tastings from California’s premier wineries. Mark your calendars now for the 2014 Gala Benefit Preview, February 20th from 6:30-10:00pm at Fort Mason Center’s Festival Pavilion.
