"Orchids… The Thrill of Discovery" is Proud to Support
The UC Botanical Garden
The 63rd annual Pacific Orchid Exposition Gala Benefit Preview on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Fort Mason Center’s Festival Pavilion in San Francisco will benefit one of the Bay Area's most well known horticultural institutions, the U.C Botanical Garden at Berkeley.
This year, $10 from each Gala ticket will be donated to this amazing horticultural landmark. The San Francisco Orchid Society (SFOS) has always had a strong belief in local philanthropic efforts and is proud to support this impressive institution's important work with environmental conservation and research.
Through this gift, the SFOS will help fulfill the mission of the U.C. Botanical Garden in Berkeley to develop and maintain a diverse living collection of plants to support teaching and worldwide research in plant biology, further the conservation of plant diversity, and promote public understanding and appreciation of plants and the natural environment. The Garden contains more than 10,000 species of plants and flowers and it features plants from nearly every continent but has a particular focus on native California flora.
The Gala Benefit gives attendees the first chance to browse and purchase the most beautiful orchids before the show opens to the general public. In addition, delicious hors d’oeuvres will be served as well as wine tastings from California’s premier wineries. Mark your calendars now for the 2015 Gala Benefit Preview, February 19, from 6:30-10:00pm at Fort Mason Center’s Festival Pavilion.
